Yesterday I was walking and saw several people of various ages together in a small park. They seemed “at home” in their various ages and I began to wonder if I am at home as 54. It struck me that we have two ages: our chronological age and our age in the Lord which is eternal and ageless.
How old is my soul? It has no age in time but only lives now in the Lord, eternally and always now in and with the Lord. When I forget that I suffer. We all have to suffer, of course, but I pray that more and more of your sorrows will be godly sorrows and that your joy will increase. Joy is profoundly ordinary and ageless.
